SEASON 2026

(amended May 2026)

The management of the league shall consist of a President and Vice President selected from member clubs on rotation and a League Secretary/Treasurer and Competition Secretary to be elected at the AGM.

The committee shall consist of the Rabbits Captains elect plus one member, each to have voting rights.

At least 28 days’ notice to be given for the AGM.

Any resolution or recommendations from clubs shall be in the hands of the Secretary 14 days before the AGM.

Each club shall pay an annual fee, to be decided by the delegates at the AGM.

The Management can call a delegates meeting at their discretion.

The rules of golf apply.

Each match consists of four x two person teams from two clubs opposing each other under “four ball better ball, match play” conditions. 90% difference taken from the low player as per WHS regulations.

Each club plays all other clubs in their division, home and away.

Scoring is on a points system.

2 points = win.

1 point = half.

0 points = lose.

Points of all four teams are added together to produce a win, lose or halved result.

Results to be passed on to the Competition Secretary via email or text message by both home and away clubs within 24 hours the match taking place.

Any team match may be shortened (on agreement of the Captains) to provide a result when darkness etc. intervenes.

Captains may agree to cancel a match and play at a later date, the Competition Secretary must be informed in advance of the original date and given the reason why and the new date of the fixture

Each club carries one reserve team to play in a “friendly” match. Clubs must inform their opponents if they are unable to field a friendly match 72 hours before the match is due to take place

Rabbits Captains and Vice Captains whose Handicap Index falls below 15.0 may play in competitive matches off their lower handicap.

Handicap Index of 15.0 to 28.0. Higher handicap players may play in League matches but must calculate their playing handicap from a Handicap Index of 28.0 Lower handicap and junior players are eligible to play in the “friendly” Matches Only.

Players are eligible to compete even if their handicap falls below 15.0 within the 7 days prior to the match.
In such cases, the player must:

  • Provide evidence of their previous handicap to the opposing Captain, Vice-Captain, or team representative before play begins.
  • The player must compete using their current official handicap index, as recorded by England Golf.

Ladies will play from the red tees using the red tee stroke indexes

Men will play from the yellow tees using the yellow tee stroke indexes

All players in official matches to be a minimum of 18 years of age and be full or midweek members providing the members official handicap is held by the member club.

In the event of any final league positions being tied, the winners shall have the best away points total over the season. If still tied the team with the best head to head score between the 2 clubs will be awarded the higher position. If still tied the respective captains to confer to decide the higher position.

In the event of a dispute the circumstances must be reported to the Competition Secretary within 48 hours of the match in question having been played, and the Management’s decision will be final.

The annual presentation dinner shall be held at the end of the season, at a club that can accommodate the required numbers. Each club must send a minimum of four delegates for which they shall be responsible for payments of the meals.

Individuals to pay for meals on the day the match is played. If the away team does not turn up or inform the home team of the correct numbers that team must pay for the uneaten meals.

Date for the AGM to be confirmed by the Management.

Team Knockout

Match Format – Each match shall consist of three games, with each game represented by two-player teams from the opposing clubs. The club listed at the top of the draw for each match shall play at home, apart from the final, which will be played at a neutral venue. All games will be played under the format of:

  • Four-Ball Better Ball Match Play, in accordance with the current league rule.
    Handicaps will be applied using:
  • 90% difference taken from the low player as per WHS regulations.

Match Outcome – Each individual game must be played to a conclusion, with no halved matches permitted. Play will continue beyond the scheduled number of holes (playoff) if necessary until a clear winner is determined.

For any matters not specifically covered above, the standard season rules shall apply.

Jack Roberts Trophy

The Jack Roberts Trophy will be a 4BBB Stableford competition played for by 1 representative pair from each club, hosted by member clubs on rotation.
